I suggest that this post invites us to think differently than we have traditionally done in education–to change our mindset. We are repeatedly bombarded with the next thing we need to do, whether it’s from a federal, state, or district mandate or an educational leader/expert. The key is to find that happy medium spot that avoids being complacent while also avoiding adding one thing after another. In thinking about an innovator’s mindset, I think we should ask ourselves how we can use knew knowledge or mandates to take what we are currently doing and make it better for our students.
