What a wonderful tribute to Joe Bower. I have been reading many tweets and comments about him. I knew him through his blogs and now learning more about him through his friends. My heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.

  2. Great tribute George! It is such a sad day. My hope is that his words & past actions will continue to push people’s thinking & actions in doing what is best for kids, learning, & teaching.

  3. George, thanks for writing this tribute to Joe. Even though I never actually had the opportunity to meet Joe in person, like many, I have been influenced by his thinking. I always appreciated that Joe had the best interest of kids at heart and he shared what he was thinking transparently. He courageously said what needed to be said even when some people weren’t yet ready to hear it. Although Joe is no longer with us, his thoughts and ideas will live on inside many of us well into the future. My deepest condolences go out to his family and friends.

at the very least wash off after having certainly not had a bathe since turning up in Spain and having been in the hot climate, but I
had to confine me to a fast rinse-off
